January Residential Tip - Tips to Selling Your Home
4 Tips for Selling Your Home this January
Yes, I know that Summer months are traditionally the “peak season” for home sales, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sell now (and we can help)!
Pay attention to curb appeal: In the Summer we think about the perfectly mowed yard and gorgeous landscaping, but Winter in Maine is beautiful too! Keep your driveway and sidewalks cleared and ready for showings. If you have outdoor storage make sure the area is tidy, tasteful and uncluttered.
Make renovations wherever they offer value: Not all remodels add value to your home, if you not sure what that might be just let your listing agent know. Many buyers are anticipating remodels or updates when they move in leave it to them to choose the paint colors. Renovations that add more functional space (or storage space) can be a great investment.
Put away your holiday decorations: We all know those people that leave the lights up WAY too long. Don’t let this be the thing your perspective buyers remember about your house.
Price and market your home properly: We all hold high expectations when we put our homes on the market and pricing can be intimidating, no one wants to leave money on the table. Throughout 2020 we saw bidding wars for fair and under priced homes bring bids well over asking price while overpriced properties sat for longer than expected. If you have concerns let us help you decide where to start.
